"Drawing inspiration from the historic Eltham timber trestle rail bridge, this project merges architectural simplicity, natural materials, and a deep respect for heritage—both local and cultural—to create a contemporary family sanctuary.

Throughout the interior, design choices pay homage to the owners’ South Indian and Fijian roots. Rich textures, vibrant textiles, and curated artwork infuse the home with personality and cultural significance. These elements are complemented by the retained copper fireplace, a striking centrepiece that bridges the old and the new.”

We acknowledge the Bunurong People of the South-eastern Kulin Nation as the Traditional Owners of these unceded lands and waterways, upon which we live and work. We respectfully acknowledge their Ancestors and Elders, and the continued practice of culture, customs and connection to country and community. In Australia, sovereignty has never been ceded. Australia always was and always will be, Aboriginal land.
